About me
I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue U that was followed by a career in product development, technical sales and program management. During that period, I obtained three US patents and became Six Sigma Green Belt certified. The '07 credit crisis fell upon the US economy and things were shaken up.
I transitioned to teaching where I taught elementary ed then praxis'ed up into middle science and high school earth science, biology and physics. During this time period, I developed an app for education in the Google Docs environment, OrangeSlice Teacher Rubric. It was utilized around the world as schools were beginning to transition to 1:1. While at MSD of Steuben Co, I transitioned into the PowerSchool Admin position. Chantell Manahan encouraged me to pursue a CETL certification. After some time, the Director of Technology position opened up at DeKalb Central, Auburn, where I rebuilt the network, shifted the department culture to a proactive focus and created many work instructions and procedures to drive consistency and leverage lessons learned into our everyday activities and practices.
In July, I will be transitioning to Whitko Community Schools as their Director of Technology where I look forward to making a significant impact to continuously improve the technology's role with students, staff and parents/guardians.
