For thirty-nine years Rick taught English and coached cross country and track, retiring in June 2017 from Columbus North High School (IN) where he had been coaching, teaching, and serving as English department chair.
Rick is a nationally-recognized coach of multiple state championship teams. As a 10-time Indiana Coach of the Year and a 4-time nominee for National Coach of the Year, he was inducted into the Indiana Track and Cross Country Hall of Fame in 2004. For his achievements as an educator, he was inducted into the BCSC Education Hall of Fame in 2014. Rick and his wife Amy, a retired special education teacher, have five children and two grandchildren.
Rick published his first book called
Move Your Chair, a Guide to Every Day Excellence in 2015, his second
Excellence 366 in 2021, and is currently continuing to make a difference in people’s professional and personal lives. Through his company “Every Day Excellence with Rick Weinheimer” he has delivered keynote presentations, led workshops, and coached individuals in 12 states. He is certified in Myers-Briggs training, DISC personality styles, Emotional Intelligence, Leadership, and Frame of Mind coaching.
